2 species of Ceratopetalum are endemic to Australia.

Christmas Bush (Ceratopetalum gummiferum) is famous for its display of red sepals during  the Christmas Season.

Coachwood (Ceratopetalum apetalum) is a fragrant rainforest timber once used for coach building.

A 3rd species, the North Queensland Coachwood (Ceratopetalum succirubrum), also grows in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
