Description: The Large Tongue Orchid is a terrestrial herb with green lanceolate leaves on stalks.
The flower stem is usually 50cm - 80cm tall. The flowers are yellow to green with a large red to brown lower petal. Other petals are long and narrow.
Distribution: Large Tongue Orchids like sandy soil and can be found in heath and open forest, preferring damper areas.
Comments: Large Tongue Orchids are pollinated by wasps.
It is sometimes called the Cow Orchid or Duckbill Orchid.
