Lake Burragorang is the main water storage for Sydney, the Capital City of New South Wales.

The lake was created when Warragamba Dam was built across the Nepean River.

Water quality has been protected by the creation of an exclusion zone around the catchment area of the dam.

The Coxs River & the Kowmung River are two of the major water sources for the dam.

The Coxs River brings water from the west while the Kowmung River brings water from the south.

Lake Burragorang viewed from Clear Hill at the southern end of Narrow Neck Plateau.  Water levels are higher after recent rain.
